Now that the holidays are subsiding and I’ve been absent from posting for a few weeks, I’m trying to get back in the habit of creating fresh content for you all and updating some of my old posts. There is so much I’ve learned about blogging since I started and I anticipate 2019 will lead to even better posts as well!
What an amazing year it has been for me both professionally and personally. I started the year by getting promoted to associate manager at my day job, moving to a beautiful new apartment complex, visited 2 new states (Colorado and Vermont), and met one of the most amazing humans, my wonderful boyfriend Mike. I also got a chance to start this blog and turn it into a hobby I truly enjoy. I thought I’d close out the year with some reflection on where I’ve been in the last year and some of my favorite experiences from those trips.
This year led to one of my best friends getting married in May and my sister getting married in October. A lot of my travels this year focused around these events, whether it was planning my sister’s bridal shower, going on bachelorette trips, or traveling for the weddings themselves.

March ended with my quick cruise to Mexico for the bachelorette party, departing out of Galveston, TX. It also just happened to be my birthday so even though it was a short trip, it was worth it to escape cold and snowy upstate New York for palm trees, beaches, and fruity drinks. I was back in Texas two months later for the wedding in a quaint little town called Comfort, just outside of San Antonio. I got to show Mike around San Antonio for a day as I had been to some of the sights before, and we had a blast celebrating with friends I had not seen in quite some time.

For as terrible and cold as winter is in upstate New York, it is equally pleasant in the summer months, which led to a lot more hiking and weekend trips to finally enjoy the nice weather.
Throughout the summer, we took several trips to the Adirondacks for railbiking, tubing, and to hike Cascade Mountain. We spent a day in Boston and a long weekend in Montreal. I also spent a weekend in New York City for her surprise bachelorette.
As the months started to grow colder, I still had a few days of vacation to use up, so we booked a spontaneous trip to Colorado, which led to some of the most beautiful landscapes I’d ever seen and my first visit to a national park — Rocky Mountain National Park.
I got to visit so many new and exciting places this year and I absolutely cannot wait for what is in store for 2019! I’m busy making a ton of plans for shorter weekend trips and hopefully one our two more big ones! Along of course with keeping the blog up to date.
What was your favorite place you visited this year?
